Expensive shades of attraction riding the consciousness stream

Hi Ken.

Englewood Colorado.    Well I finally found the expensive areas here.   grand houses with expansive lawns with horses grazing out front.   tennis courts. on the side.  hard packed and wide bike paths running by lazy streams.    lots of white folk.   expensive haircuts and clothes.   the  effortless comfortable life.    makes me wonder the various paths that people took to get here.    In the bay area this place would be a lot like Los Gatos or a bit higher on the scale Atherton or Marin or Corte Madera, where my good friend Bruno lives.    You could usually throw a dart and have a good chance of guessing for most it was technology that got them there, but here, south of Denver, don't know if you could guess technology.   Coors executives?   Denver Broncos players?  Too black probably.    I feel uncomfortable in these places because they are TOO COMFORTABLE.   Go figure.   But I come here because I have found that in wealthy places they assume you are wealthy and will leave you alone, and give you things if you ask politely.    Nice to be rich, people fawning around you.    I can mostly play the part when I want to, so I come here and blend in.  "Excuse me, can I have a fillup on my coffee?".  "Of course sir".  Arrggh.

I am trying to have a blog this summer, and I am turning slightly vegetarian.   Not that the two have anything to do with each other.    I reckon now that I have sat down to write to you, some of the above will end up in a blog post.  Always trying to find the easy way out :)

I miss you guys.    I should be back just around when the legendary Bandon rains will be coming in.

SF high rent district. You have guest room the needed. Went to Bend, central Or. high desert like Santa Fe and big money. Smoke cleared and had a nice widow 25 miles paved bike paths. Disneyland biking. Food hunting an adventure. Stay in touch.
Rooms cheap[er Las Vegas. Lady Luck and a couple others old houses used to be $25 a night. Stay away from the Crap tables. Spent a lot of time in LV. Have fun. Logged on to Linked In and had 4 hits last week. Send Crossroads out. Covid has given us some clues, what are they and what possibly do they mean? Covid looking more like Tesla everyday. On Wall Street. Maderna stock looking good. Bandon his the news. 12 businesses closed. Finally arrived and the county numbers yesterday around 50. No more 7 or 8 dailies. Only the flew. Travel safe and have fun. xx

 101824 Part 24 On fresh thinking I have found that when I sit down to write, or work on a somewhat larger project, it is always best to approach it with an empty relaxed mind, and usually after having just woken up, or having walked by myself for awhile and just thinking, and allowing my mind to ruminate and empty itself.    This is consistent with the approach I seem to have taken in life of not really knowing what I am doing - pretty much at anytime anywhere -  when approaching projects, but trusting that I will somehow figure it the resident challenges.    A noisy mind does not allow much into it.   An empty vessel allows for the echoes of thoughts to bounce around enough so that you can turn them on their sides and see them more properly. *****************  Icy morning.   My "summer" away has bled into the fall, and much cooler weather, and I never thought I would ever say this, but I am looking forward to getting back to Bando...

 10222128 Part 25 11.11111111..... Prescott AZ is a high desert town carved out by heavy winds and ancient rivers and rains, so that now it is all sand, dirt and rocks, and endless canyons.    My sister Jill and her husband Joe say that when they first moved here in the early 1990s they were the only house on the canyon.     Now that same canyon is dotted with houses, there are big box stores in town, and the town has mostly transitioned from ranching to  - now - tourism and retirees having moved up from Phoenix.       Oddly similar demographic trends to where I live in Bandon Oregon, albeit that Bandon is still in the early stages of that transition, and still blessed with the charms of locals who will sit in the coffee shops and scowl and curse at the retirees and tourists because the town is changing too fast for them.    I have been told to my face by one farmer that he is just waiting for all the Californians and tour...

the whole way Epilogue .     Back in Bandon.   Tuesday October 26 True Voyage is Return This is a quote from Ursula K LeGuin, one of her books somewhere.    The actual quote is "To be whole is to be part.  True Voyage is return".     The first part of that quote did not resonate with me when I first read the book 40+  years ago, so I fairly quickly forgot about it.    The second part though has always been with me. What it means to me - that second part - is that  when we travel, changes occur within us that we never notice, and it is only upon returning back home that we see that the person we have become is not the same person that we were when we left.   That the journey in between has changed us.    We have become someone or something different.    That the voyage we have been on is not fully understood until we compare and contrast these two different people.    Once W...
